Most people don’t realize that Massage Therapy is an excellent way to boost your immune system. Especially when it comes to people who live with high levels of stress. A study from JAMA states 60 to 80 percent of doctor’s office visits may be stress-related. 

What if you don’t eat properly or suffer from some form of insomnia? That will disrupt your immune systems ability to protect itself against infections and other diseases. However, there is more and more research supporting the amount benefits of massage are plentiful!

According to the AMA “In a controlled study composed of HIV-positive adolescents, participants who received massage therapy showed enhanced immune function by the end of the 12-week study. The immune changes included increased white blood cells knowns as natural killer (NK) cells, which provide rapid responses to viral-infected cells.”

So when you are the feeling the effects of the chaotic weather pattern we are experiencing, turning to exercise and massage therapy (i.e. deep tissue massage therapy) might be a great addition to a healthy diet!
